Since its founding, OCMA has been a leader in presenting and preserving the art of our time. Originally the Newport Harbor Art Museum in 1968, OCMA became the Orange County Museum of Art in 1997. As OCMA’s collections, exhibitions, and programs have grown, so has its reputation of investing in promising artists and helping shape art history. Now, the museum’s collection comprises more than 4,500 objects, with a concentration on art produced during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, housed in a brand-new 25,000 sq. ft. facility. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Thom Mayne on the Segerstrom Arts campus in Costa Mesa, OCMA re-opened to the public in the fall of 2022.
The Patrons will enjoy a docent guided tour of highlights from current exhibitions at OCMA, across a wide range of media, types, and artistic perspectives.
Patrons will enjoy a two course seated lunch following the docent-guided tour at OCMA’s café, Verdant. Verdant offers a fresh, innovative, plant-forward menu that rotates and highlights the bounty of local and seasonal produce in Southern California. In addition to its menu of California cuisine replete with locally sourced, organic ingredients, Verdant offers gourmet coffees and teas, including ceremonial-grade matcha, and features a full bar with a carefully curated wine list and craft cocktails. The café space is located on the museum’s Upper Plaza and provides visitors with a chic and joyful dining experience in a bright and creative setting.
